Trends in Sustainability Issues Interest

Sustainability initiatives or policies must align with the interests of stakeholders to be successful. It is difficult to build motivation and momentum to address a sustainability problem if nobody cares about. There are thousands of sustainability issues, from well-known challenges like climate change or biodiversity loss to lesser discussed topics such as ecosystem composition or food sovereignty. To understand which issues people care about, organisations need to look to their stakeholders for guidance. Traditionally, it has been difficult and expensive to build an understanding of stakeholders’ interests. However, new sources of information are allowing for novel insights into the issues that interest a wide variety of stakeholder groups. This page will become a repository for such ideas. Over time I will draw on my research and work developing sustainability strategy and programmes to provide short and practical insights on the sustainability issues that different stakeholder groups are showing concern for.
